My little girl Athena is aged 10 and she knows what a blog is. She knows that she wants a website with a blog to share her thoughts to the world. She also knows that it is incredibly easy to set up. The World has Changed

Children ask loads and loads of questions all of the time. Because I am a website designer, my little girl is always asking me what I do and why I do it. Because she is only 10 I try to cushion her from all the technical jargon and keep the answers as to what I think a 10 year old will understand. She normally just tells me to shut up and stop treating her like a child.

When I was 16, we were the first year to be allowed to use a calculator in a maths exam, and our first computer was a Sinclair ZX81 with a 16k memory pack shared between 30 of us. Athena who is aged 10 has been using a computer at school virtually all of her life. The world has changed and even I feel like I´m a substitute waiting to be allowed onto the Internet playing field so that I too can join in and do whatever everyone else is doing. I don´t know what they´re all doing, but I do know many of them are blogging.

You can set up your blog to allow visitors to register and leave comments on your website which hopefully you will want to answer. Many of the biggest websites around today are solely built upon visitors comments and conversations. By talking to your visitors, you will find many of them returning again and again. Don´t be scared of your visitors. Give them the opportunity to know you better.
