Your blog therefore needs to provide value or generate enough interest from your visitors so that they will come back to your website again and again, just to see what you have to say.

Make it easy and ask your visitors to subscribe to your feed! Make sure your feed button is obvious and can be found on all of the main pages of your blog. The RSS Feed works by letting visitors who have subscribed know when a new article appears on your blog.

Submit to Free Blog Directories. You can publicise your blog just as you would publicise anything else. Post your blog to popular social bookmarking sites such as Reddit, Digg and StumbleUpon. Try to find blogs on the internet that appeal to your target market and make comments to posts here.

Visitor Traffic

Review your statistics regularly to determine how much traffic your blog is receiving. Your hosting provider will most likely provide visitor statistics for you. However, for more detailed reports, I would recommend creating a Google Analytics account which allows you to track exactly where visitors go through your site and best of all, it’s free.

There are many ways to turn a blog into a money making venture. These could include advertising, affiliate programs, PPCs or selling your own products through your blog. Whatever you decide to do, keep your blog current and up to date and make every blog entry interesting and engaging.
